Both Sharon and I completed our basic certification dives in Monterey Bay in the early 1990's. The water was cold, but the experience of viewing all the sea life in abundance did not deter us from venturing back time and again. Of course, our first concern was diving; though Chuck did start off using a very elementary camera setup to capture the images of the sea creatures he was viewing. The main reason was to later look up the images in a book to see what it was they had come across down below. A number of the images on this page are of those early images. Not show stoppers, but clear enough to provide an idea of what we had viewed.
