The Phillipine Islands afford another wonderful place to venture beneath the Earth's water's. Our trip took us from San Francisco, California to Manila and then a bus ride to Puerto Galero. The TriStar is a live-a-board vessel from which we completed our first week's dives. We later transitioned to a land-based operation in Puerto Galero for our following week's diving. Both provided outstanding dive locations.

The water's were very comfortable to dive in and an ample array of underwater life was an enticement to make dive after dive.

For those who enjoy clammering though sunken vessels, but are not certified for wreck penetration, you will definitely enjoy these dive waters. We found more than enough sites to keep us busy, and the fish life was most abundant.

Octopus Octopus Peacock flounder

This octopus soon tired of me and turned red to blend in with the surrounding coral. The Peacock Flounder also considered me personna non-grata. Our little grouper is hiding under table-top coral while an Emperor Anglefish passes by.

The small fish love it and even some larger fish like to call this home.

Of course, all these sunken vessels make a wonderful natural reef.
